Inflammatory and Immune Neuropathy
Kim Jong-Kuk

Abstract
Inflammatory neuropathy is a wide range group of disease that is affected in peripheral nerves with inflammatory mechanisms. It includes infection, paraproteinemia, vasculitis and immune neuropathy. Immune mediated neuropathy is a specific type of peripheral nerve disease that its mechanism is regarded as autoimmunity. It typically represented with Guillain-Barre syndrome and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy. Guillain-Barre syndrome is known to be the most frequent and important post-infectious neuromuscular disorder in recent days. It is divided into several types of acute inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (AIDP), acute motor axonal neuropathy (AMAN), acute motor conduction block neuropathy (AMCBN) or other variants such as Miller Fisher syndrome (MFS) and pharyngeal-cervical-brachial variant (PCB). AMAN, AMCBN, MFS and PCB are regarded to be strongly associated with anti-ganglioside antibodies in the pathophysiology.
